General information about organization:
The Agency has been established by the Kosice Self-governing region in April 2003 as the non-profit organization providing generally beneficial services for the support of regional development and employment in terms of the approved Plan of Economic and Social Development of the Kosice region.
Mission and objectives of the organization:
Contribute to more effective and dynamic sustainable development of the Kosice region by creating such conditions and mechanisms in the region, that enable to resolve problems of high priority and achieve objectives in sense of approved development strategies in mid-term and long-term horizons.
The activities of the Agency are primarily focused on solving the problems and their causes of unbalanced and not enough dynamic social-economic development in the region. Main problematic areas are: shortage of information and communication, lack of capacity needed for efficient regional development, underdeveloped partnership potential, not sufficiently elaborated alternatives of regional development, low quality of development projects, fragmentation of development priorities, insufficiently used cross border cooperation.

- Preparation, Management and Project Implementation
- Possibilities of resource mobilizations and financial project management
- Feasibility and other technical and economic studies

4. Partnerships establishment
- Identification of regional and cross border co-operation potential
- Initiation and facilitation of co-operation between institutions, governmental authorities, businesses etc.
- Organizing co-operation in elaboration of socio-economic plans of the sub-regions with respect to the national and regional plans
5. Analysis and research
- Analysis of development trends and foresights
- Preparation of alternatives for development in various fields
- Cooperation in the regional innovation strategy
6. Monitoring and Evaluation
- Monitoring of national and regional projects for the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development, the Ministry of Economy, the Kosice self-governing region as well as other national and foreign clients
- Evaluation of impacts of different Slovak and international programmes and projects.
