KRAPO is a non-profit association of legal bodies according to the Civil Code of SR. The institution was registered on October 12, 1998 in Regional Office of Presov. The foundation`s members were the Office for the Strategy of Society, Science and Technology Development of SR, Bratislava and SVS Consulting Ltd., Presov. Regional development agency KRAPO Presov is involved in the integrated network of regional development agencies. Under the auspices of the Ministry of Construction and Regional Development of SR (MoCRD) the Agency is involved into the creation of the development documents for Presov self government body and the Ministry (MoCRD). The activity of the association is oriented on systematic technical assistance in regional development and working out of the regional development in Presov region.

KRAPO has co-operated in the area of publicity in integration of the Roma inhabitants in the framework of project Phare SR 9905.02 "Education oriented on the decision makers in local municipalities", as well as in the area of education in project Phare 9813.04.01 "Improving of the status of the Roma in Spis area". The further important projects implemented by KRAPO are:

  • Support of the employment of the Roma women in Spis Podhradie; and.
  • Media programs - Kapura, KER 3 KROKY and Europe for you.

Extremely important project was supported by Phare CBC JSPF SR0101.03-0016 program Slovak republic - Poland "Designing of the regional development strategy for the cross-border areas of Presov self government region in co-operation with regional self-governments bodies from Polish side", which was terminated in July 2004. The project output was the regional development strategy coming out of the identified needs of all the subjects involved in RD of cross-border areas. The strategy supported the above mentioned subjects in the execution of the development intentions preferably in area of tourism, support of the SMEs and strengthening of employment and social consensus creation.

Nowadays we continue in realization of the systematic technical assistance in regional development and working out of the project of RD in Presov region. From 2004 we offer the services of the Technical Secretary of the ECOSSOC program. Besides of this we offer the information service, technical assistance, advisory services in designing and management of the European projects for various institutions, local administration bodies and individual clients.

Our goal is to assist the villages, towns, regions, NGOs and SMEs to create the international partnerships, co-operation networks - we offer the contacts for the potential partners in the framework of cross-border co-operation through functioning of our own international co-operation network of institutions active in the regional development field.

We are currently implementing the project "Who are they? Who we are?" in the framework of the initiative equal supported from the European Social Fund oriented on the education and particular assistance for refugees. The project`s main objective is to create the background platform for more effective solution of social and employment integration of illegal emigrants. The proposed activities are oriented on three target groups, accepting/receiving society, asylum applicants and responsible state and municipal administration bodies. The project is proposing the activities aiming at improving of the education level of the state administration clerks, mutual information on migration exchange, local inhabitants sensibilization, creation of the condition for the refugees`s language knowledge improvement as well as their integration into the labour market. One of the project`s activities is also the establishing of co-operation between the Migration Offices from both sides of the Slovak-Ukraine border and realization of the survey on the migration through common border line.
